Team

Osborne's founder, David Hewett spent 13 years working in senior positions in investment banks in Tokyo including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Daiwa Securities, and Mizuho Securities, where he was the Co-Head of Asia for Japanese Equity Sales before founding Osborne in 2013. He has been living and working in Japan for over 30 years. Hewett has a degree in Japanese studies from the University of Massachusetts where he was a member of the Honors Program. He also completed further studies at Hokkaido University and Richmond College London. Before entering banking, Hewett spent four years in the United States Marine Corps reserve and is the recipient of the Honor Graduate Medal from the Marine’s Parris Island Base.

Takumi Arai brings a diverse international background, having grown up in Japan, the USA, and the UK, with formative years spent in Tokyo and Boston. After completing high school in Japan, he pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter and a master’s at University College London, followed by advanced studies at Oxford Business School. After spending six years in the UK, Takumi joined Osborne Inc. in 2023.
